I have now been using this modem for a month and it has been doing fine. As I have Comcast Cable and it has not been upgraded in my area, most recently, I do not notice greater speed, but according to Comcast when it does upgrade I will have the state of the art modem.
This modem works great with charter! I'm paying for 30mpbs, but with this new modem I get around 50MBPS+ depending on the time/day. So it's really a no brainier if you need a modem go with a new DOCSIS 3.0 and get more speed without paying more. I'm sure it varies per providers (some may cap it), but charter does get a nice boost in my area.
